Aurora Eco Nation Polar Bear 24cm
The Eco Nation Polar Bear is 24cm of cream-white plush, made entirely from recycled plastic bottles — outer fabric and fibre filling both. The fur has a faint sheen to it that reads as ice rather than cheap shine, and the muzzle and paws are shaped rather than stitched flat. Aurora have taken the plastic beans out of the range and embroidered the eyes instead of fitting plastic ones, which is what makes the Eco Nation animals suitable from birth. There is a neatness to a polar bear made from rubbish that children pick up on immediately, helped by the recyclable hangtag, shaped like a bottle, that shows how it was done.
